The Blue Wind
by Dan Wilcox
“The blue & the wind, the blue wind”
- Nadja by André Breton
The Caffè door opened in a blue
wind of her fear, desperation
seeking a ticket to run —
That breeze
carried her away to Sufi hills
in borrowed coat & brewery
watch cap, a shawl & hoodie
abandoned to the week’s rain
in a box under the Main Street bench
all else carried in tote bags with
delusions & paranoia, but, alas
no recollections, no panties
(“don’t wear ‘em”), no car keys —
trinkets & ephemera tucked away
or forgotten, a room key (#6),
lotus necklace, notes of gratitude
joy & self sex denied, silent
singing bowls, empty cafe tables
in her blue wind of vanishing.

Bretonish indeed! Nice! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteReal and yet unearthly. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWho is this guy anyways?
ReplyDeleteTruly in the spirit of William Carlos Williams. Feel like was/am there.
